MANOJ MANJARI SISHU BHAWAN: KEONJHAR

Activities undertaken by the organization during last three years relating to proposed project

and other to prove the experience of the organization.

1. Manoj Manjari Sishu Bhawan, Keonjhar was established on 17th May, 1973 as an assured

shelter for orphan, destitute and abandoned children and physically handicapped children.

2. It has got National Award in the year 1991 in recognition of its service to the society

particularly in the field of child welfare.

3. Orphaned, destitute and abandoned children in the age group of 0-5 years are kept in a

Special home called “Home-Sweet-Home”.

4. For inmates there are 2 boys’ hostels and one girl hostels.

5. MMSB has established schools in the campus with provision from Class 1 to X.

6. Vocational Education like Song/Music, Dance, Tailoring, Art and Craft and computer

education units are functioning in the campus.

7. For mental and physical development of children yoga training classes are organized .

8. Life skill training to staff and children provided.

9. Health awareness programme among children and staff.

10. Pisciulture.

11. Gardening

12. Sishu Bhawan has library with more than 4000 books.

13. For the rehabilitation & financial support of students RD scheme is introduced .

14. At the ourskirt of town at Sidhamatha an agriculture training centrefrom 1983 and School

for the Deaf and Blind are functioning since 1986.

15. School for the Deaf and Biind has been upgraded to Class-X.

16. Computer networking system (ERNET, Ministry of Information and Technology,Govt. of India

started in the year 2010.

17. Somagiri project, under Harichandanpur Block is situated at a distance of 35kms from

Keonjhar town.A medical centre titled Tribal Health centre including maternity and child

care centre and Schools managed by MMSB are functioning at and around Somagiri.

18. Five schools have been opened at five villages at and around Somagiri since 1981.

19. A micro-finance project is in operation around Somagiri.

20. Website www.mmsb.org.in started in the year 2011.

21. Combined Health and Education Programme(Unnayan) is introduced around Somagiri areas

during the year 2012-13.

22. Rehabilitation through adoption -400 children ( In country and inter-country)

23. Rehabilitation through self employment,Marriage,Govt.Service,ITI training,Nursing.

24. Childline project-2015 started.
